Q&A with Indi Seidel of Quest Apartment Hotels

Quest Apartment Hotels has been a proud supporter of TEMi for over a decade, supporting professional development initiatives including webinars, forums and major events.

TEMi recently interviewed Quest’s National Account Executive, Indi Seidel, to find out what trends she’s seeing in the Global Talent Mobility sector’s long stay corporate accommodation needs, what key factors corporate clients are looking for when choosing accommodation, and what advice she has to offer Talent Mobility Specialists when sourcing long-stay accommodation for employees. Read on for Indi’s insights.

Q: What trends are you currently seeing in the Global Talent Mobility sector regarding long stay corporate accommodation needs?

Indi: We are seeing a strong demand for quick turnaround times, with budget constraints remaining a key challenge. While accommodation rates have risen due to inflation and post-COVID recovery, we aren’t seeing budgets rise. Most enquiries are for stays are for up to 28-day stays rather and less of the 3–6-month length of time. With the ongoing rental crisis, there could be potential for increased demand for longer stays if rates can be aligned.

Q: What are the key factors that corporate clients in your industry are looking for when choosing accommodation for their employees who are relocating or teams working on long stay projects?

Indi: Each assignee and company have unique requirements. Our goal is to tailor our services to meet the diverse needs of our clients. This can range from organising a bus service to the job site to ensuring the assignee has a spacious desk and secure Wi-Fi for working from home.

Q: How do you build and maintain long-term relationships with clients in industry sector in such a competitive market?

Indi: We focus on being flexible and responsive to our client’s needs. We understand that while accommodation is a crucial aspect of an assignee’s move, it is not the only consideration. Our aim is to make this part of the process as seamless as possible, allowing agents to provide the best options to their assignees.

Q: What advice would you give to Talent Mobility Specialists when sourcing long-stay accommodation for employees?

Indi: Each Quest property is operated by business owners who reside in the local area. They are experts in their communities and can offer valuable insights on local amenities, shopping, parks, and schools. Leverage their local knowledge to find the best accommodation options for your employees.

Q: Can you share a story that makes you proud of the service you offer?

Indi: One of our Quest properties recently discovered that a guest checking in late was observing Ramadan. Wanting to make them feel welcomed and cared for, the team thoughtfully placed dates in the room upon arrival. This small but meaningful gesture not only met a need, but also created a sense of belonging, showcasing our commitment to genuine, personalised service that makes every guest feel valued.
