A new partnership has been formed between TEMi and ECA to support the growth of the talent mobility sector.
ECA provides all the technology, data and expertise you need to manage and support your mobile employees around the globe. ECA’s partnership with TEMi will serve to strengthen the professional development programs available to local practitioners and build technical skillsets.
While technical skills are crucial, ‘soft skills’ such as critical thinking, communication and collaboration are essential for navigating the complexities of talent mobility, and a key component of the partnership will involve the rollout of events designed to boost these skills concurrently. TEMi and ECA will commence quarterly ‘peer-to-peer roundtables’ for the sector from this month, bringing practitioners from a variety of industries together to strategise, stress-test and innovate.
“With demand for skilled talent across many industries remaining high as the rate of technological change outpaces traditional education systems, the need for specialised talent mobility professionals continues to grow to effectively fill skills shortages, and organisations are prioritising formalisation, expansion and development of their talent mobility teams,” TEMi Founder Deborah de Cerff said.
“TEMi remains focussed on providing the specialised training talent mobility professionals require and is proud to partner with ECA to continue to advance the talent mobility sector and support employer needs.”
According to Jobs and Skills Australia’s 2024 ‘Occupation Shortage List Key Findings and Insights Report’, 33% of occupations are in national level shortage, however fill rates are increasing alongside the number of qualified applicants per vacancy, indicating improvements in the supply of skilled talent.
“Vacancies have been falling and employment growth has continued and the talent mobility sector has had an important role to play in this,” Ms De Cerff said.
ECA General Manager for Australia, NZ and Pacific, Anna Michielsen echoed this sentiment, adding that adoption of artificial intelligence tools, big data and integrated technology for streamlining operations would be vital to the sector’s ongoing efficacy.
“ECA provides the technology, data and expertise talent mobility professionals need to support their mobile employees and business goals,” Ms Michielsen said.
“We are proud to be working with TEMi on educational initiatives that will enhance awareness of the insights and technologies available to the sector, and to launch these knowledge-sharing events.”
