AI adoption in Global Mobility is accelerating – is governance keeping pace?

AI is rapidly becoming part of everyday Global Mobility practice — but formal organisational adoption may not be keeping pace.

Recent findings from TEMi Partner ECA International’s Global Mobility Now Survey 2026, involving more than 300 mobility professionals, indicate that 79% of organisations are now using AI in some form within their mobility programmes, up significantly from around one in five two years ago.

Yet much of that adoption remains informal. Around 61% reported individual employees using AI tools independently, while only a small proportion have embedded AI into structured Global Mobility workflows.

For Mobility leaders, this raises a bigger question than simply which AI tools to use. As adoption accelerates, how are organisations addressing governance, data and privacy considerations, quality assurance, practitioner capability and accountability for AI-supported decisions?

The technology may be moving quickly, but the opportunity for Talent Mobility is to ensure the capability, governance and human judgement surrounding it move just as quickly.
