Q&A with Danielle Patel
Danielle is the Mobility Lead for Incitec Pivot Limited’s APAC operations, where she oversees the region’s mobility processes with a strategic focus on optimising global and domestic employee movement. With over a decade of experience in HR, and qualifications including a GMP1® and HR Diploma, she brings a deep understanding of the complexities involved in global mobility. Her hands-on experience and comprehensive knowledge enable her to navigate the challenges of managing talent across diverse geographies. Danielle is dedicated to creating seamless mobility experiences that align with business objectives, making her a key contributor to the success of Incitec Pivot’s workforce strategy. Q: Tell us a bit about yourself?
Danielle: I am a passionate Talent Mobility professional with a keen interest in connecting international talent with global opportunities in niche industries. Adding to this I have a strong focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Outside of work, I enjoy watching my 10 year old play club basketball and spending time with my family.
Q: What is the most rewarding/exciting aspect about working in the Talent Mobility Industry today?
Danielle: The most rewarding aspect of working in the Talent Mobility industry is creating life-changing opportunities for individuals and their families by supporting their transition to a new country. Guiding them through every stage—from recruitment to relocation—and witnessing their successful settlement is an incredibly fulfilling experience.
Q: Why is having a community focused industry group like TEMi important?
Danielle: TEMi plays an important role in our sector as it fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the industry. TEMi brings together professionals who most likely would not have connected otherwise, enabling them to address challenges collectively and drive innovative solutions.
Q: What motivated you to join TEMi’s team of volunteers?
Danielle: Since joining the TEMi community, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time meeting and collaborating with everyone. I’m eager to contribute my knowledge, continue learning from others, and further develop my expertise while supporting the community’s growth.
Q: What excites you most about where the profession is headed and the impact it’s making?
Danielle: The growing emphasis on employee experience and diversity, equity and inclusion in workforce mobility excites me most. By focusing on these areas, we’re not only enhancing talent satisfaction but also contributing to meaningful social change. The profession is poised to lead impactful transformations, building a more inclusive and adaptable global workforce.
Q: If you could make one significant change to the global workforce management landscape, what would it be?
Danielle: I’d love to see a unified, transparent framework for international workforce policies—one that strikes the right balance between employee well-being and organisational goals. By standardising practices while respecting cultural differences, we could make mobility simpler, more inclusive, and create smoother transitions for talent around the world.
